How we should certify technical communicators

The whole certification discussion right now has me thinking…

Some of the arguments against it (and folks, it’s in concept flesh-out mode; give it time to grow some meat on its bones before you pick it clean) seem as logical as the process of determining whether someone is a witch.

Sorry for the aside. I couldn’t resist. ;-)

Great analogy! Now if we could only figure out how to work “strange women lyin’ in ponds distributin’ swords is no basis for a system of government” into the conversation. Or maybe some people would feel that “Help! Help! I’m being repressed” might be more apt?
